Investigating mechanisms of development and regeneration.
Welcome to the Wattrus Lab
In development and regeneration, certain cells are maintained and expanded while others are eliminated and lost. This arises from both competition between cells and active external interference, particularly from the immune system. Our objective is to understand these mechanisms with the long-term goal of modifying these behaviors to therapeutically expand certain cells and eliminate others.
Members of our group will gain research experience and receive training that prepares them for graduate/medical school and careers in industry, medicine and academic research.
